Fourth Generation
The fourth generation runs from 2010 to 2015, through the end of the Iraq war and the drawdown in Afghanistan. The services shrank again, and the work moved toward smaller deployments, special operations, intelligence and cyber. The reserve components stayed in the rotation, and the Army and Marine Corps began to turn back toward the Pacific.
